The Lura Lake Association restored over 2 miles of lakeshore bynplanting black willow, chokecherry, hackberry and ash in 60-foot-wide riparian strips. 20,000 trees were planted between 1994 and 1997. 30,000 were planted in 1998.
The trees are growing well.
To restore water quality of Lura Lake by controlling lakeshore erosion and filtering agricultural runoff from adjacent fields by improving vegetative cover around it.
